Our Company’s History
In 2006, Ridgeway HomeBuilders was born out of a real need for a local Custom Home Builder that could conveniently serve the residents of the San Francisco Bay Area . After hearing of people's bad experiences and disappointing products from other local businesses, The Ridgeway's came up with the idea of starting a company that would actually deliver on their promises of quality and satisfaction.

"My family and I feel fortunate to live in a house built by Ridgeway Home Builders. I came across the house mid-construction. The floors were still concrete, the walls were bare drywall, but we took a leap of faith and decided to put an offer on the promise of what would be. It was the best decision my husband and I made. Erica and Ron, promised a date only 8 weeks out for the house to be move-in ready. Many involved including us couldn't believe it when they fulfilled their promise. We closed on the promised date and moved in! Ron had the very complex project and materials all coordinated perfectly to ensure no work stoppages were required. Our curiosity was always welcomed and accommodated, so we could visit the house during construction whenever we wished. They even accommodated a few customizations to the home's finishes and fulfilled our requests on landscaping without hesitation.
Their great service continued even after we closed. Ron and his team came by to 'perfect' finishes and fine tune loose ends. During this process we discovered two issues: one with the wall framing near the refrigerator that didn't allow me to take out a freezer drawer, and the second with a faulty switch in the wine fridge. Ron fixed both without hesitation: "We'll take care of it." he said, and before we knew it, these were resolved at no cost or headache to us.
Our house was finished with great care, meticulous attention to detail, and amazing craftsmanship. We were lucky to have a reputable contractor who builds high-end homes review the house a few times and he was blown-away by the quality at work, pointing out numerous places where many common shortcuts were not taken in the design and construction. My house is sturdy and inviting, while appealing to us as timeless and beautiful. I am so grateful to this family business. "We used the Ridgeways to basically build a new home for us. After much research, chose them for their impeccable quality and efficiency. Yes you can build a home in four months! They are incredibly organized and work around the clock for you. I created a Pinterest board and asked Erica to help choose the materials that were within my budget but achieved the same look and she did an amazing job. There were things I added that were not in the plans like a window seat, etc that they were determined to figure out how to do for me without charging more- they don’t nickel and dime where reasonable. I always felt their sincerity in wanting us to be happy. They understood that we were pretty much sinking everything we had in this remodel and thus really helped us to achieve our dream home. Ron was incredible at working through challenging situations- working through ways to resolve. But I’ll say the ultimate test is after moving in. This is where I’m even more convinced we chose the right builders. Anything and I mean anything we see that needs fixing they do not question or hesitate and immediately send someone over to address. It’s been incredible and gives me peace of mind. Even years from now I think if something comes up they wouldn’t hesitate to assess. They have such integrity and back up their work. "We absolutely LOVED working with Ridgeway! This family-owned business was more organized, competent, timely, and responsive than perhaps any company I have worked with. Not to mention that our large-scale remodel was completed ON BUDGET and in LESS THAN 4 MONTHS -- unheard of! We did a nearly whole-house tear-down (kitchen, living room, new master bedroom and bathroom, laundry room, garage, second story, and back patio) and I was nervous about a big remodel and all the horror stories one hears, but we had the complete opposite experience with Ridgeway. We had a modest budget by local standards, and Erica designed the MOST BEAUTIFUL home for us that everyone who visits says should be photographed for a magazine -- I had a loose idea of what I wanted and Erica translated the design perfectly. Erica's mom Jennifer flawlessly navigated all the permitting and paperwork and city bureaucracy, and her dad Ron was the on-site foreman who made sure everything went where it was supposed to go -- and it did. No re-dos, no last-minute surprises, no budget creep, no miscommunications or delayed responses -- there was literally nothing for me to do except approve plans, weigh in on options, and take in-progress tours. Oh, and did I mention that they were the lowest-estimate bidder on our project?!?! And they are lovely people with kind and considerate sub-contractors to boot. "About 4 years ago I needed to make an in-law unit for my mother who who had recently had a heart transplant. I had never done anything like this before and didn’t know where to start. I found an architect who helped us create drawings to get permits from the city. I figured once I had the permits and the drawings I would be able to get contractors to bid on the project. Unfortunately I was naive and did not understand how hot the construction market is in my area (Santa Clara) really is. A few contractors came out and told me they would send me a bid but I only received one and I was told it would take between 8-9 months and they wouldn’t even be able to start for a few months. I found Ridgeway on Yelp and contacted them. I was a little worried because all the pictures on Yelp were of beautiful houses/mansions. They replied back to me quickly and Erica was out at my house in a few days bidding on the project. She told me they could start in about 2 months and would take between 4-5 months to complete the build. I ended up hiring them and was very pleased with their professionalism. Erica is the project manager and is very good at her job. She organized everything so well they were able to complete the project in 3.5 months. Ron is her father and the general contractor for the company. He is super knowledgeable of with years (probably decades) of experience. Ron went above and beyond doing little extras to make sure it was ready for my mom. The quality and speed of the job is what was most impressive. Their prices are comparable to other construction companies in the area. The major difference you get with them is their commitment to the project. You can call at almost any time with any concern and you will get a response very quickly. Recently an issue came up regarding some concrete work done to our driveway and they STILL responded right back to me, came out and addressed the issue! I waited this long to review them because I wanted to make sure that no surprises popped up. So far everything is holding together nicely and the house looks great." SANTA CLARA, CA
